India is a developing country and is known for its dynamic culture. In our modern society, it is very essential for the people to keep a broad thinking. India has a strong law and it is essential for people in India to respect their law to create peace in the society. In the year 2018, the Apex court of India came with a verdict for the LGBT community by decriminalising gay sex and making it legal, resulting in a huge group of people belonging to the LGBT community to achieve a right to practice for which they had been fighting over a long period of time.
This right which has been provided to them makes it essential and mandatory for the people of this community to be accepted throughout the country without any differences and equal treatment by all. LGBT is a loosely defined grouping of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender supportive people, organisations and subcultures, united by a common culture and social movements. A brief description about LGBT, they comprise of:
- Homosexuality is a feeling or desire involving sexual attraction to people of one’s own sex.
- Gay- Male homosexual behaviour
- Lesbian- Woman homosexual behaviour
- Transgender- Another category/who is neither a complete man nor a complete woman and are called “Hijras” in Hindi.
