Can you tell us some of the ways your company supports LGBTQ employees?
At nCino, diversity is a large part of what drives our success. We believe that supporting our employees is more than encouraging them to add pronouns to their Slack profiles or email signatures—we aim to truly create a safe space where employees feel they can come to work as their true selves. As part of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiative, we are home to a number of affinity groups, which employees can join for support, connection, and allyship. Our nPride group has hosted various panels to raise awareness, amplify the voices of LGBTQIA+ community members and invite non-identifying colleagues to consider their peers’ experiences with empathy.
Why is it important to support LGBTQ employees in 2021?
Members of the LGBTQIA+ community are in every workspace, whether they feel comfortable identifying themselves or not. When employees feel they need to hide parts of their identity at work, this can affect not only their mental health but also their job performance and team dynamics. nCino is committed to hiring people who embody our core values, such as “Respect Each Other” and “Do the Right Thing,” and that means committing to making sure everyone who works at nCino feels respected, valued, and accepted for who they are.

Can you tell us some of the ways your company supports LGBTQ employees?
Our Global Pride Network Employee Resource Group (ERG) is dedicated to the wellbeing, visibility, and empowerment of our LGBTQ+ and Ally employee community. We’re proud to share that in North America we’ve been given a 100% score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index since 2018. Every year during Pride Month, we open our ‘swag store’ for business. Employees can buy Experian pride merchandise and all the proceeds go to the Trevor Project – an organization supporting LGBTQ+ youth through crisis intervention and suicide prevention.
Why is it important to support LGBTQ employees in 2021?
Although we’ve made progress, there is still work to do for LGBTQ+ equality around the world. That’s why we’re partnering with organizations like the Human Rights Campaign, Out & Equal, and Stonewall to learn new ways to advance our inclusion efforts.

At Capital One, diversity, inclusion, and belonging are valued at our core. Our associates are empowered to do great work by creating an inclusive culture—a place where associates of all backgrounds, including our LGBTQ+ community, can thrive by bringing their most authentic selves to work. We have a long track record of advocating for policies that advance all dimensions of LGBTQ+ equality, from housing and employment protections to marriage equality. We were one of the first major companies to offer same-sex partner benefits back in 1997 and continue to be an early adopter of other policies promoting equality and belonging in the workplace. We are fully committed to fostering talent from all backgrounds across all levels and roles and advancing a culture of belonging where every associate is seen, heard, and valued. This comes to life through many channels, including Capital One’s Business Resource Groups. These are associate-led, self-managed groups that connect based on common interests, backgrounds, demographics, identity, or a passion for allyship and inclusivity. The Out Front Business Resource Group is a growing, thriving community that fosters welcoming spaces for all at Capital One. When LGTBQ+ associates come to work, they are empowered to live their truth with allies and supportive colleagues. The community also offers education and resources to help spread awareness, understanding, and support, including conversations with leaders and members of the Out Front community, as well as inspiring external speakers.
Why is it important to support LGBTQ employees in 2021?
At Capital One, we believe it’s our responsibility to continuously advocate for an equitable and inclusive society, where everyone in the LGBTQ+ community feels empowered to be themselves and have equal opportunity to thrive. We strive to lead by example and be a champion for equal protection. There’s still awareness to be raised, policy to be changed and equality to be achieved. At Capital One, we’re using our platform to amplify voices that have not always been heard, because our voices are more powerful when we come together as a community.
