Last February, The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) published a research report entitled Inclusion at work: perspectives on LGBT+ working lives. The report explores topics such as wellbeing, job attitudes and conflicts in the workspace.

The report points out how opressive and hostile the working environment tends to be for LGBT+ emplyees, specially for trans works: 40% of LBG+ works and 55% of trans employees experience conflictual situations at work in comparison to only 29% of heterosexual cisgender colleagues.

Also according to the report, the conflicts that are the most likely to be experienced by LGB+workers are:

• being undermined/humiliated (20%)

• shouting/very heated arguments (14%)

• verbal abuse/insults (14%)

• discrimination because of a protected characteristic (11%).

The report also includes specific recommendations for LGB+ and trans inclusion.
